Lightkeep does not ask you to move the household into a new calendar.
Put one iCloud calendar on the phone and iPad, tell Lightkeep where it
lives, then keep the wall in place with Guided Access.
01
Choose your path
Put one calendar on both devices.
Pick the path that matches the Apple Accounts on your phone and wall
iPad. You only need one of these.
Simplest
Same Apple Account
On both devices, open Settings → your name → iCloud → See All.
Open iCloud Calendar and turn on “Use on this iPhone/iPad.”
Open Apple Calendar and confirm the calendar appears on both devices.
You do not need a Lightkeep linking code for this path.
Under Wall calendars, leave on only the calendars the household should see.
Set “Save invitation scans to” to the shared family calendar.
Worth checking
“Default calendar” often points to a personal calendar. A scan can
save successfully there and still be invisible on a wall that
shows only the family calendar.
03
On the wall iPad
Keep Lightkeep in place.
Lightkeep keeps the screen awake. Guided Access separately prevents
an accidental swipe or button press from leaving the app.
1
Enable Guided Access.
Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access. Turn it on and configure a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
2
Return to Lightkeep.
Open the wall view, then triple-click the top button—or the Home button on an older iPad.
3
Keep the wall interactive.
In Session Settings, leave Touch on, leave the time limit off, and disable only the hardware controls you do not want used.
4
Start the session.
Triple-click and authenticate whenever you need to pause or end Guided Access.
iPhoneAdd “Lightkeep test” to the family calendar.
→
iCloudWait for the event to sync.
→
Wall iPadConfirm it appears, then delete it.
If the test reaches the wall, the important part is working. Device
linking is optional and only needed when different Apple Accounts
should share Lightkeep’s theme, morning window, week style, and kid
colors.
